Manila, Philippines – On 12 June 2024, the historic Manila Grand Opera Hotel hosted the Media Launch of the Perlas ng Silangan Basketball League (PSBL).
This national developmental league aims to nurture young sports talents at the grassroots level, offering comprehensive sports and self-development programs to support youth across various regions of the Philippines.
Founded by Perlas ng Silangan Sports Ventures, Inc. (PSSVI) alongside passionate sports enthusiasts and local businesses, the PSBL seeks to foster regional teams across five age groups: under 11, under 13, under 15, under 17, and under 21.
These teams will compete within their regions, and the regional champions will face off to determine the national champions for Season 1, which is scheduled to run from July to December of this year.
The leadership team of the PSBL includes:
📌 Christian Ensomo, Chief Executive Officer, fitness expert and sports enthusiast
📌 Rudy Aquino, Chief Marketing Officer, international sports artist, and owner of Pilipinas Dream Team
📌 Nato Agbayani, Chief Operations Officer, veteran public relations and marketing professional, communicator, and serial advocate
📌 Rodney “the Slasher” Santos, Commissioner, esteemed Coach, and an Athlete
The league is poised to make a significant impact by cultivating young talent and providing opportunities for personal and athletic growth, with the ultimate goal of elevating Philippine basketball on a national scale.
