Over the years, we have witnessed women rising above structural barriers and unprecedented economic shocks. In the latest report by the World Economic Forum, the Philippines is ranked as the 19th most-gender equal country for 2022, with 78.3 percent of its overall gender gap closed to date. Despite ranking two notches lower compared to 2021, the country’s performance tops among the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) countries and is second best in the East Asia and Pacific region, after New Zealand.
While we recognize the significant developments on gender parity, our collective efforts and immediate action play a crucial role in closing the gender gap and harnessing the potential of women for lasting and sustainable growth.
Against this backdrop, the ECCP Women in Business Committee remains committed to provide an avenue to bring together women leaders across different industries to discuss challenges affecting the growth of women, as well as promote women empowerment and advance gender equality. This Women’s month, they will also feature the Chamber’s signing of the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles.
A networking night will be held after the program from 5:00 to 8:00PM.
