At the SMX Convention Center Aura in BGC on 18 March 2024, Leah Magallanes, vice president for Quality and Sustainability at SMHCC, shared the newest sustainability initiatives. The event’s highlight was the official launch of Tela Tales in partnership with social entrepreneur Zarah Juan, advocating for a circular economy for discarded linens to promote environmental stewardship.
The event was filled with engaging workshops that allowed guests to delve into the world of sustainable fashion. Guests were given the opportunity to explore sustainable fashion, learn about eco-friendly practices, and participate in upcycling activities. The event featured a range of cleverly transformed items skillfully made from pre-loved linens of SMHCC properties.
With Tela Tales growing, SMHCC is excited to expand its reach and make a bigger impact, utilizing imagination, teamwork, and a strong sense of togetherness to advocate for environmental stewardship and create a stronger, more enduring world for future generations.
