A pre-event dinner was hosted by Venom Foundation for PBWx Manila at Uma Nota at Shangri-la The Fort. As the biggest sponsor for the Web3PH organized FutureProof Tech Summit event on October 10-11 at the Podium. Venom Foundation was also present to support the DICT-led Global Blockchain Congress 2024 and PBWx Bataan last September 24-25.
The UAE-based company hosted the dinner that featured the co-Founders of Philippine Blockchain Week and other influential figures from the Philippines, and highlighted the Venom Foundation’s blockchain journey and its potential to scale at a national level, a feat not previously achieved by other blockchains.
Venom Foundation CEO Christopher Louis Tsu, coming all this way from UAE, explained blockchain as a digital, immutable ledger, essential infrastructure for innovation and efficiency. He emphasized blockchain’s potential in various sectors, including finance and cross-border transactions.
Said Tsu, “(Blockchain) is a ledger where you write on a piece of paper transactions. Everybody in the room can see the ledger, but nobody can touch it. It has a plastic sheet over it. It’s an unusual ledger, and this technology is groundbreaking. There have been blockchains around for over a decade, but we are the first blockchain that can scale at a national level and serve 100 million people. We are going to give the keys of technology and development to the Philippines.”
Blockchain technology is touted to contribute positively to the country’s economics, provide cost-saving efficiency, and deliver real innovation for finance and banking.
Donald Lim, co-Founder of the PBW also shared how the organizers held successful events in Davao, Bacolod and Bataan, with PBWx Manila and FutureProof Tech Summit as the last leg.
