As part of the annual Sinulog Festival, the 43rd Cebu Popular Music Festival concluded on a high note on Friday, 17 January 2025, with the love song “Ikaduha” taking home the Top Prize! Ikaduha is performed by the talented trio — Jan Francis and Jovie Loon, both KWC PH artists and an independent singer, Dave Alcano. The event took place at the UV Gym in Cebu City.
This original Cebuano song is penned by a Cebu-based singer-songwriter Paul Rosa. “Ikaduha” means “second” in Cebuano is a song about loving someone unconditionally and the journey of being second best in a relationship. Rosa’s song emerged victorious from a competitive field of entries. The quirky appeal unconventional theme and roller-coaster emotional appeal of the song, combined with the powerful performance of the Cebu-trio clearly swoon the judges and audience.
The Cebu Popular Music Festival is an annual celebration of original Cebuano music, showcasing the diverse talents of local composers and performers.
