A year-ender with a blast BLACKOUT: The Kickoff is #NotJustAFestival

The journey has begun as the road to BLACKOUT begins with a kickoff last December 15, 2024 at Bridgetown Central Park, Pasig City.

Featuring Josh Cullen, KAIA, Sharlene San Pedro, and more, BLACKOUT: The Kickoff. It’s #NotJustAFestival combined music, arts, and gaming into one night of passion and community. Its aim isn’t to be the best event of the year, but to simply bring together industries into one night where guests can blackout the world and be their unapologetic selves. Shortly after doors opened at 2pm, the open air, outdoor event with cool cocktail vibes and loads of school fest fun started buzzing.
The Kickoff Elevates the Rise of P-POP, OPM, and Rising Artists
The P-POP wave was headlined by SB19 member, Josh Cullen joined by girl groups KAIA, YARA, DIONE, and CALISTA, and boy bands, NEW:ID, 1ST.ONE, and 6ENSE.

OPM artists Sharlene San Pedro, alongside As Far As We Know, Marvin Ivan, Daniel Paringit, AVI, and PAHAM shared the stage. The after-party featured Benj Miranda with his band of DJs: Bandit, Sigrid, Victor Pring, Rolf, Chavo, and Xayah.

The BLACKOUT lineup were specially-handpicked artists representing the rise of a genre to further grow the community and spread the growing music industry. Guests milled around trying out the various art and gaming experiences mounted by sponsors and partners.

The Palmolive activation was a stand out with hair makeovers, games, photobooths and just teeming with fun and sparkle.

Gaming and Arts
BLACKOUT: The Kickoff celebrated collaborations brought by gaming and arts with support from partners Gamer Girls Philippines, Guhit Pinas, and many more. Lots of creativity and experience interactive areas with live art, tattoos, and merchandise areas had their fair share of visitors.

Whatever you want it to be
Ultimately, BLACKOUT is #NotJustAFestival, delivered on its promise: Be whatever you want to be. Guests were there for the music, the gaming and the arts—for all type of fans to be what they want to be, even for just one afternoon and one event.

Also at the event was the launch of Philippine Blockchain Week 2025 set for March. Talk about out of the world partnerships and all possibilities. BLACKOUT: The Kickoff, as the name suggests, is only the prologue to a larger BLACKOUT coming in 2025. It’s a glimpse of what’s to come and an introduction to what BLACKOUT will essentially be that’s a collision of gaming, music, and arts, where anyone can find their community and be part of the festivities that celebrate each industry.
